Frank de Los Hoyos, 90, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away on April 4, 2024 at his home with his wife, Myriam, by his side.
Frank was born in Havana, Cuba. He was proud to become a U.S. Citizen and resided in Pembrooke Pines. He was a talented carpenter and established his own business. Frank’s Dinettes. Frank was a Godly man and an active member of St. Steven’s Catholic Church. He was a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister. He was a dedicated servant of the Knights of Columbus, committing himself to the Third and Fourth Degree. He was best known for his loving heart, quick wit and charisma.
Frank was President of Administration of Knights of Columbous of South Florida, and President of St. Vincent de Paul and President of the Men’s Club of St. Stevens Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and a volunteer for 29 years as a Ranger in Vista Plantation. He was a volunteer for the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office and instrumental in getting Cap 8. He enjoyed playing bocce ball in his free time. In his last two years, he helped distribute food to The Source, St. Francis, and others in need. He was also an organizer for the cursillo movement in South Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Myriam of 68 years; children, Jeffery de Los Hoyos (Rosalie) of Coral Springs, Shirley Rice of Erin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Richard and Michael Rice, Natalie and Frankie de Los Hoyos; adopted grandchildren, Colleen (Jeff) Bruckner, Courtney (Rhett) Baumann, John-John Coppola, Joseph Coppola; great-grandchildren, Abigail Rice and Maisie Rice; Adopted Great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace and Luke Dalton; sister, Rose Masi of Boston, Massachusetts.
A Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 7550 26th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32966.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
