Gail Frances Hammond Harris Kemp Allen, age 84, of Sebastian, passed away at her home on Monday, March 6, 2023.
She was born in Lawrence Village, Michigan on October 5, 1938, to parents, Ralph J. and Elizabeth Bisbee Hammond.
Gail moved from Hartford, Michigan to Florida in 1956-1976, Gretna, Louisiana till 1987, Vero Beach till 1994 and finally to Sebastian.
Gail was a graduate of Hartford High School, Hartford, MI, as well as the Indian River Community College, and Florida Bible Institute.
She had worked most recently at the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners as a traffic technician for 13 years; Reagan Equipment Co., Gretna, LA and Point Eight Power, Belle Chasse, LA, as secretary for 10 years; and Brevard County, Deputy Clerk, Titusville, FL for 15 years.
Gail was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church, Ft. Pierce, FL.
Survivors include her sons, William “Bill” (Sheila) Harris and Ronald Harris both of Gretna; daughter, Linda Leo of LA; sister, Martha “Mart” Wright, of MI; and her brother, Ralph John “Johnny” Hammond II of MI; 24 grandchildren, Jennifer, Keith, Judd, Mandy, Donald, Emily, Buddy, Greg, Brannon, Brian, Dustin, Jeff, Chris, Rachel, Ciera, Levi, Becky, Jennifer, JT, Tiffany, Heather, Paul, Christopher, and Kimberly; and 29 great-grandchildren, Kalob, Karlee, Karson, Alyssia, Jonathan, Alex, Teerney, Trinity, Judd, Jr., Khloé, Nathanael, Jaylee, Zander, Camden, Kennede, Jordan, Ty, Skylar, Kayleigh, Gavin, Karli, Kaylee, Remington, Sadie, Callie, Elizabeth, Piper, Raelynn, Josie.
Gail was predeceased by her brother, Boyd Hammond, father, Ralph J. Hammond, mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Bisbee Hammond, 1st husband, Donald E. Harris, 2nd husband, W.H. “Bud” Kemp, 3rd husband, Warren C. Allen, sister, Martha “Marty” Wright, and by her grandson, Zach, and great-granddaughter, Taylor.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Riverview Baptist Church, 4601 N. Old Dixie Hwy, Ft. Pierce, FL.
A private family interment was held at Winter Beach Cemetery, Winter Beach, FL.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Gail was my first cousin & spent a few weeks in Wi. with her Mother & siblings. Always was a good time & I greatly admired her!! God be with all of you at this very sad time! So sorry for your loss sorry I was unable to be there but her Gail’s obituary you left her 2dtrp daughters and their husbands Ruth Reeves Robert Reeves Teresa Frederick Donny Frederick and her 2stepsons Wendell Allen and Robert Buchanan. If you can’t use the entire family then take my kids and grandkids off of her obituary.Dont use my kids and grandkids like this.

I am Peggy Harris. Gail’s cousin in Hartford, Mi. Daughter of Augustus and Iola Bisbee. We were only a months difference in age and I lived her so much. She was a wonderful person and will be missed so much. Prayers are love to family and friends. She’s in a much better place with God.
