Gregory Lynn Sullivan, fondly known as “Sully,” of Defiance, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, in his Sebastian Florida home. Greg brought a bold spirit, a big laugh, and an even bigger heart to everyone lucky enough to know him.

Greg was a skilled butcher by trade, known for his hard work and strong hands—but it was his humor, magnetic personality, and gift for conversation that truly defined him. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Bull-headed in the best way, Greg stood firm in who he was and loved with his whole heart.

He had a deep love for fishing, playing the drums, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. Whether telling a tall tale, keeping the beat, or cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes Greg lived with passion, vigor, and a contagious laugh that filled every room.

Greg is survived by his beloved children, Jennie Lamberty and Gregory L. Sullivan Jr., who carry forward his strength, humor, and unshakable spirit. He is also survived by his sister Jackie Nuttall and granddaughters Evelyn and Lillian Lamberty. He was preceded in death by his parents Loyal and Juanita (Mayes) Sullivan, and his brother Larry Sullivan, who he now joins in peace.

He ended every phone call with his signature line: “Yack at ya later.” And that’s exactly how he’d want us to say goodbye—not with sadness, but with a smile and the promise to keep talking about the good times. Greg will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.

I could share a hundred great stories about Greg and the good times we had in the body shop building and rebuilding cars with my brother Eric and all under my dad(Dean) expertise. Greg loved his mustangs. He could turn your worst day into laughs in record time every time. Greg used to forget his coffee thermos almost every day when he’d leave the shop to go home for the day so Eric and I would take turns painting it different wild colors like pink polka dots with barney purple accents and such. He’d always laugh when he come to the shop the next day jus to see what we came up with for his new colors on his thermos. Paint was about half inch thick when he retired that thing. Great times with great people. He will never be forgotten…..and the beat goes on….Rest in peace brother..

Greg was a good hearted person. Always caring for the other person. He lived with Nick and I several times. Always cooking and making sure that everyone had something eat. When Nick and I adopted our children he sent us a check to take them on a vacation anywhere. So we took them all to Florida to meet him and his sister Jackie. You can now see your mom again.
