As I sat on my patio the morning of Mom’s passing, I heard some commotion coming from the hedges. A female cardinal was fluttering about trying to get my attention. I spotted the cardinal and went over to see more clearly. As I approached, she flew off to the telephone wire where she sat next to the most vibrant red male cardinal I have ever seen. The two sat for a moment then flew off together. I already knew that Mom and Dad were reunited on their 61st Wedding Anniversary. This just confirmed to me they are together once again. Mom will be truly missed. #MyWonderWoman

My Mom-In-Love was such a courageous woman who endured so much in her life, especially during her 4 year journey that began with a diagnosis of Stage IV lung cancer in 2014. She was soft spoken, funny, caring, generous, smart and had a sharp wit & sense of humor that I loved. I was Blessed to be in her life because of having the honor of marrying her wonderful youngest son, Brian. She is loved beyond measure by her family. Her strength and perseverance is evident in our daughter Amber June, as well as her other granddaughters. We will cherish our memories of her which will keep her with us as we continue our journey through life.

I met June more than 20 years ago. She was gracious and kind. For a time, when she so generously shared her home with me, we would sit at the table by the pool and talk for hours. It was a time I am greatful for and I feel blessed that I got to know her. June has been and will remain in my heart and in my thoughts and prayers, always.

Aunt June fought a long and courageous battle, and I take comfort in knowing she is at peace with Uncle Jim, reunited on their anniversary. When we spoke over the last 4 years, she always sounded brave, determined, and resolute to fight the cancer as hard as she could. Aunt June was a very caring and loving woman – she will be missed!

Grandma, four years ago we were afraid we wouldn’t be able to spend one last Christmas with you. Thank you for being such a strong fighter and giving us four more years of memories with you. It’s still hard to believe just a few days before we were celebrating my 25th birthday. Thank you for leaving me with that one last special memory of us. I will always remember your courage, kindness, strength, and love you showed this world everyday. Give grandpa hugs for me… love you grandma forever and always.
