Hendrik Bruno Isings, 93, was born in Amsterdam, Holland, to Bruno Hendrik and Janna Isings on November 29, 1931. He went peacefully into the arms of God on Thursday, January 9, in Vero Beach, Florida.
After WWII, Hendrik (Henk) grew up in Curacao, NA, where his family was reunited with their father who had escaped German captivity. In Curacao, Henk married Elta R. Vinck and they soon moved to Miami, Florida, to start a new life with daughter Jeanne.
Henk was a man of God who prayed daily for everyone by name, was an officer of the church and was a member of Gideons International. He was a free-diver, boat captain and adventurer. Henk travelled the world on behalf of his company, Isings Travel.
Henk will be sorely missed and forever loved by his family. He was predeceased by his wife Elta, son Bruno Hendrik, sister Mary and brother Jan.
He leaves behind his 3 children Jeanne and husband Art, Alton, Monique and husband Chris, daughter-in-law Martha, 9 grandchildren Amy and husband Ted, JP, Nicole and husband Daniel, Hendrik, Janna, Joel, Alex, Owen and wife Saray, Luke and fiancé Lauren, 18 great grandchildren Marley and husband Clay, Ashlyn, Grady, Madelyn, Brody, Copper, Annie, Bailey, Ben, Mackenzie, Macie, Micah, Brooklyn, Avery, Cypress, Leandrew, Elias, and Ava. He is survived by his brother Wilhelm and wife Regine.
A kind and generous person, Henk touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly.
The funeral will take place on January 20, 2025, at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Hendersonville, NC.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Our sincere sympathy. Our heart goes out to the whole family. He’ll always be remembered fondly as a kind, generous and loving person. God only choose the best. He and Etna has been reunited. He was a very good friend of my Dad, Lionel Vinck, your mom, Etna’s cousin. We even visited them at their home in Florida. Have you all in our thoughts & prayers. May God give you strength.
