James Harper Carmine Jr., 90, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2018 in Vero Beach, FL.
Jim was born in Syracuse, NY on February 27, 1928 to James Harper Carmine, Sr. and Mildred Pattey Carmine.
He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School; was a veteran of both the Army and the Navy and had a 30 year career in broadcasting sales which started as a cameraman on the Ernie Kovacs show in Philadelphia. He raised his family in Huntingdon Valley, PA and moved to Vero Beach in 1988. He was actively involved as a coach or umpire while his boys played baseball, basketball and several other sports. He volunteered with numerous organizations including an 11 year tenure with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, candor and devotion to his family and the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Stephen James Carmine and his sister Pattey Fleming.
Survivors include his sons James H. Carmine III, William Creighton Carmine (Bonnie), Scott Harper Carmine, Douglas Allen Carmine (Melissa) and his beloved former wife Linda Carmine.
The family will receive friends at 1:30 PM followed by a 2:00 PM Service on Saturday, September 29th at Lowther Funeral Home 1655 27th St. Vero Beach, FL.
