James Michael Costello, Mike as he was known to all, 75 years old, passed away at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida, on March 20, 2016. Mike was the loving husband of Jean O�Hara Costello for over 54 years, as they began their courtship as high school sweethearts.
Mike spent 23 years in the US Air Force, where he started as an airman and worked his way up to Captain, forecasting and teaching weather. His duty stations included Cape Cod, Florida, Oklahoma, Germany, Thailand and California. He was active in the Vietnam war. The family settled in the Sierra foothills east of Sacramento where their four children grew up. After retirement from the military, Mike �Mellow Costello� taught all levels of Math at the Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento for over 20 years.
Mike is survived by his wife Jean of Vero Beach, his sister Dolores Cennamo of Palm Coast, FL and their four children: James of Seattle, WA; Kevin (Jennifer) of Greenfield, NH; Brian of San Anselmo, CA; and Ann Tofolo (Ray) of San Diego. Mike and Jean have seven grandchildren.
Mike was a gentleman, a devoted father, a dedicated teacher and a fun-loving Irishman. His family and many friends will miss him very much!
