Jean M. Crawford, age 84, died peacefully on Thursday evening April 4, 2019 surrounded by her family at her residence. She was born June 21, 1934, in Melrose, Massachusetts. Her husband Jim and she moved to Vero Beach, FL from Syracuse, NY in the mid-1990s and quickly discovered a wonderful community of friends.
Jean is survived by her loving husband Jim and her 6 children JoAnne, Janice, Jim, John(Michele), Jaye(Kelley), and Jeffrey(Laura). She was Mimi to 10 grandchildren; Bryan, Kyle, Joshua, Jennifer, Buddy, Jack, Wyatt, Abby, Meghan, and Ben and Gigi to her great granddaughter Jane.
Jean truly enjoyed a career as a registered nurse, graduating from Mary Fletcher nursing school in Burlington VT in 1956. The many areas of the profession she enjoyed were school nursing, summer camp nurse, hospital care, and IV nursing.
She was a busy wife and mom, a loyal friend, knew how to giggle, command an audience, and direct us all to her end result. She didn’t take orders, she barely took suggestions.
A private celebration of life will take place this summer with her family.
