Jim �Pappy� Kouns, 81 left to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday June 19, 2016. His family was by his side.
He was born on November 10, 1934 in Ashland, Kentucky and moved to Vero Beach in 1969 with his wife and 6 children. He was a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service for 35 years.
Pappy was known for his love and compassion for his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his dedication of coaching Little League Baseball, Recreation Football & Girls Softball. He enjoyed the camaraderie of playing baseball and softball and continued to do so into his 70�s with the Vero Beach Codgers.
Pappy leaves behind his wife of 62 years Darlene Kouns and sons Jimmie Jr (Yong Hui), Ronnie (Tracy), Dale, Donnie (Toni), daughters Connie Johnson (Jerry), and Kim Schlitt (Jimmy), grandchildren Valerie Brantley (Tray), Glenda Grady (Sean), Aimee Kouns, Jimmie Kouns, Roger Kouns (Janet), Chantel Kouns, Kyle Kouns, Crissie Zeigler (Peyton), Cory Kouns, Audrey Mosel (Mike), Emily Johnson, Jessica Schlitt, Bailey Schlitt, great grandchildren Elinor Kouns, Anna Kouns, Quinn Brantley, Hutch Brantley, Hayden Johnson, Colin Grady .
He was preceded in death by his parents, John L & Margaret Kouns, brothers Bud & Mickey Kouns and his grandson Chad Kouns.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Community Church Small Chapel at 11:00 a.m.
