On Monday, November 23, Joanne (Jody) Toni Davis (nee King) loving mother of two children and two grandchildren passed away at the age of 82.
Jody was born on September 29, 1938 in Richmond, VA to William and Sylvia King. She married Norman Davis in 1959 and they raised a son and a daughter before Norman passed away. Also surviving are Jody’s two granddaughters.
Jody began her career as a legal secretary before moving to California in 1966 and starting her own business, Ravenhurst Enterprises. As CEO of Ravenhurst she grew the business to a multi-million dollar candle and incense shop. She created her own scents and sold one, originally called midnight madness to Revlon – which became the base of the perfume Charlie. She returned to Virginia and to the legal profession becoming a law office manager before retiring to Florida with her husband Howard Staiman in the early 2000’s.
She had a passion for artwork, and she adorned the walls of all her homes with lithographs, paintings, and sculptures. She also loved to read and loved watching Western genre movies. She was known for her quick wit, an infectious smile, and a kind and compassionate spirit. Her son, daughter, and two granddaughters loved her very much. May her memory be a blessing.
