Joseph “Moose” Musiowski of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Aidan Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center. He succumbed to Leukemia after an enduring 21-month battle. He recently turned 68.

He was the devoted husband to Marilyn (Windisch) Musiowski with whom he shared almost 35 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Sophia (Tomchezin) who had immigrated to the United States in 1948 after being forced into labor camp by the German army during World War II. In 1967, the young family eventually moved and settled in Warrington Township, Bucks County.

Joe led a colorful life filled with high hopes, passions, and dreams. Together, his family were devoutly involved with Saint Anne’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Warrington, and in his youth, he diligently served as an Altar Boy. As a teen, he was encouraged to enroll in the prestigious St. Basil’s Preparatory School in Stamford, Connecticut and culminated his high school education at Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Pennsylvania, in 1973. Soon after graduating, Joe pursued his passion to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. OORAH! Following his honorable discharge from the Corps, his dedication to the military lead him to enlist in the United States Army as well.

As his military service drew to a close, he met Marilyn, the gal of his dreams, whom he married on February 18, 1989. Miraculously, they became blessed from above with the birth of twin boys on the exact date these newlyweds were about to celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary.

Mechanically inclined from childhood, Joe decided to further his education into a skilled trade, specifically in the heating and air conditioning field. He subsequently graduated and became certified from the CHI Institute in Southampton, Pennsylvania. Throughout the years, he became a well sought after HVAC technician by many companies and customers alike due to his vast knowledge and expertise.

“Crazy Joe” as he was fondly known, will always remain a legend for his party-hardy spirit. He loved to entertain, typically to the backdrop of heavy metal music. In true astrological Leo style, he always strived, and succeeded, to be the center of attention wherever he went.

Retirement promised to become a refreshing new start for the couple when they decided to fulfill their dream to relocate to the warmth and sunshine of Florida’s beach sided paradise in 2020, until that fateful day arrived when Joe’s diagnosis was determined positive a year later. His mind over matter attitude, however, became his ultimate strength to survive throughout the course of his overwhelming hardship.

He will be sorely missed by many but especially by his surviving wife, Marilyn, and his sons John and Michael who followed in their father’s footsteps by engaging in careers with the United States Coast Guard and United States Air Force respectively. He is also survived by his grandson, Mason.

A memorial service will be arranged at a later date.

Rest in peace, Honey Bunny.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Marilyn, Michael & John — I am saddened to hear of your loss. Joe was my friend for 68 years. His parentswere closed friends of my parents. I called Aunt Sofia and Uncle John. Joe and I grew up together and we kept in touch when they moved out of Phila. I spoke quite frequently with him before he moved to Florida. I will never forget him and his great sense of humor.
