Judith Spilko, 92, of Erie PA, passed away in Vero Beach Florida on September 25, 2021
She was born Judith Louray Gibbons on March 17, 1929 in Franklin PA. Her parents were Frank and Irene Gibbons.
She had a lifelong career in nursing, graduating from Hamot School of Nursing in 1951 and working as an RN in several cities. She worked in the postpartum unit at Hamot Hospital in Erie Pa.through the 1990s, serving as head nurse for much of that time, and also taught childbirth education classes.
After retiring from Hamot, she worked as night supervisor at Christ the King Manor in DuBois PA.
She was a member of Coastal Community Church of Sebastian and DuBois Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Frank Gibbons, and sister Barbara Burkhardt.
Survivors include five children: Deborah Spilko of Erie, Gregory Spilka (Greta) Hendersonville TN, Tanya Spilko Goldsmith (James) Palm Bay FL, Stephanie Rindosh (DuBois PA), Jeffrey Spilko (Hendersonville TN); nine grandchildren: Jackie Goldsmith Young (Justin) and Seth Goldsmith (Christa) both of Fellsmere FL, Nick Spilka (Megan) of Hendersonville TN, Gabriel Rindosh of Reynoldsville PA, Nathan Goldsmith (Jeni) of Hunstville AL, Kristi Skaggs (Jon) of Greensburg PA, and Jade Spilka of Hendersonville TN., 13 Great grandchildren, a brother Lawrence “Pat” Gibbons, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be a Memorial Ceremony for the family and close friends October 29, 2021 @ 6:30 pm at Coastal Community Church located at 4720 86th Pl, Sebastian, Fl 32958.
