Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Born and raised in the quaint town of Vero Beach, Kathleen Marie Colket brought beauty and gentleness wherever she went. The daughter of William and Margaret Redman, she grew up surrounded by sunshine, salty air, and a big family who shaped her kind and creative spirit.
She was one of six children, the steady, tenderhearted sister among James, Judith, Kerry, and Elizabeth, and she now reunites in peace with her brother Donny, who preceded her in passing.
A landscape designer by trade, Kathleen saw the world in color and texture. Her gift for shaping the earth mirrored the way she shaped the lives around her with profound love, care, and quiet grace.
Her favorite role, above all others, was being Mom. Tristram Colket V and Ryan Colket were the center of her heart and the source of her greatest pride.
Kathleen’s home was more than a house; it was a refuge. Friends, family, and sometimes even strangers found safety within its walls. Whether it was a shelter from literal storms or simply a place to breathe, her door was always open. She took pride in every detail, the way the light danced through her backyard, the scent of fresh gardenias, the comfort she created in every room.
She faced her share of challenges, especially after her home caught fire, a loss that weighed deeply on her spirit. Yet even in those hard seasons, her sweetness remained, her love as consistent as the tide.
Kathleen will be remembered for her softness, her quiet strength, and the way she made others feel in her presence. She loved deeply, gave freely, and found beauty in small things most of us might have overlooked.
Though her hands are now still, the care she poured into her garden, her home, her friends, and her children continues to bloom. Those who knew her will carry her kindness forward; in fresh flowers placed on a kitchen counter, in the scent of rain on warm soil, and in the sound of waves that seem to whisper her name.
A celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held on November 1, 2025, @ 2pm at Indian River Garden Club in Vero Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant something beautiful in her memory.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

So many great memories I will forever keep in my heart of our life long friendship. St Helens school, surviving the nuns, Class of 67 VBHS, your parties at your beautiful home, our “in the vault” talks in the hot tub, our trip to Cassadaga, where we were visited by ghosts, and we laughed for 48 hours nonstop, our long talks on the phone, the list goes on…Thoughts and prayers to Kathy’s family. She was the sweetest person who so loved her kids and family. Kathy, always on our minds, forever in our hearts. RIP, I’m really gonna miss you my friend
