Larry Edward Hensley, a kind and humble man who lived a life rooted in love, generosity, and quiet strength, unexpectedly passed away on July 8, 2025. He was 70.

Born in Williamson, West Virginia, and raised in Belfry, Kentucky, Larry moved to Florida at the age of 12, where he would plant his roots and build a legacy centered on family, friendship, and compassion. He was the beloved son of Joseph E. Hensley and Allie Sue Hensley. His father instilled in him the values of hard work, humility, and service to others.

Larry shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with his best friend and the love of his life, Jayne Hensley. Together, they built a family full of warmth and laughter, raising three children: Michael Hensley, Joy Hernandez, and Jennifer Pappadouplos. He was a devoted and loving grandfather to Chantel Pappadouplos, Edward Melendez, Rebecca Hernandez, Cayla Pappadouplos, and Kamren Hensley — each of whom held a special place in his heart.

A dedicated professional, Larry spent many years working in sales at Clear Channel Communications, where he not only built lasting relationships but also served as a trusted mentor to many. His work ethic, integrity, and willingness to help others succeed left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. He retired from Clear Channel a few years ago, leaving behind a legacy of leadership and friendship.

Known for his selflessness, Larry never hesitated to lend a helping hand, whether to a close friend or a passing stranger. His motto in life was simple: put others first. It wasn’t about grand gestures — it was in the quiet way he showed up, again and again, for those who needed him.

A lifelong lover of table tennis, Larry could often be found at the local club, paddle in hand, ready for a friendly match or a good laugh. The table was where many came to know the man behind the game — steady, competitive in spirit but always kind, and full of stories.

To celebrate Larry’s life, we invite all who knew and loved him to join us in a memorial gathering filled with laughter, shared memories, and his favorite game. The celebration will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at The Table Tennis Club, located in the Vero Beach Outlet Mall, 1708 94th Drive, Suite G100.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of a man who lived with a heart wide open, we ask that you perform a random act of kindness or make a donation to a charity close to your heart. Larry didn’t just live life — he made life better for everyone around him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
