Lynette Dunn D’Errico, age 60, passed away January 21, 2024, at VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach.

She was born spring of 1963 in Berwyn, Illinois to the late George D. and Carolyn G. Dunn.

Lynette was a graduate of Purdue University, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Adapted Physical Education. She also received a Master’s from Northwestern in Special Education.

Mrs. D’Errico enjoyed her 40 years of teaching at Floresta Elementary School in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She served 12 of those as Assistant Principal. The last year, she piloted the Autistic Program for K-5. She taught in Illinois, Indiana and Texas. Lynnette had a passion for helping children. She influenced generations of special needs children. She poured so much into each and every child.

She volunteered with Special Olympics of Florida, Healthy Athletes (Fit Feet For over 15 years), Honor Flight Southeast Florida as Secretary and Shifting Gears of Florida.

Lynette loved scuba diving, trapeze, Cozumel, traveling, time with family, cruising, triathlons, Girls on the Run, and coaching.

Survivors include her loving husband, Andrew D’Errico, two aunts and numerous cousins. She was all about her family and truly a daddy’s girl.

A Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church.

Lynette had a heart of gold. She will be remembered for the love she shared.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

I am so sorry to hear of Lynette’s passing. I worked with her while she was an AP in Indian River. She was a beautiful soul with a great passion for her students and teachers. She always had cute stories of things that had taken place within the school with her students. My heart is with you all as you grieve her loss.
