Marilyn Bewie Polite passed away May 2nd at her home in Vero Beach, Fl.
She was born January 25, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Edward & Lydia Bewie.
Marilyn attended Cleveland Lutheran High School and was part of the first graduating class. Marilyn was previously married to L. John Polite, President of Essex Corp. She was President of the Girls Club of New York and participated in the 1984 Olympic Torch Relay.
Marilyn was an active supporter of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and more recently the Vero Beach Museum of Art. She maintained homes in New York, New York and Vero Beach, Florida and formerly Ridgefield, CT.
Marilyn was an energetic and dedicated bridge player, and her enthusiastic spirit and zest for life overflowed to everyone around her. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and devotion to her family, friends and god-children.
Marilyn is survived by nephews, Paul (Lyn) Bewie of Toledo OH, the late John (Alice) Bewie of Beachwood, OH, Richard (Susan Silverberg) Bewie of University Heights, OH, David (Margaret) Bewie of Strongsville, OH; nieces, Elizabeth Bewie of Summit, NJ, Gabi & Olivia Bewie, of Strongsville, OH.
A celebration of life is being planned for October in Vero Beach, FL.
