Marlys Claire McMichael Acker, 76, passed away on April 19th, 2022 at her home in Vero Beach, FL.
She was born in Cumberland, Maryland and moved from Miami, Florida to settle in Vero Beach, Florida.
Marlys was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years.
She was a Girl Scout Leader for 20 years and loved to sew. Marlys was a graduate of the University of West Virginia and earned a bachelor’s degree in Art.
Marlys is survived by her three daughters Adrienne Acker, Tiffany Nugent & Wendy Horevat; grandchildren Cody Acker, Cheyenne Lloyd, Cierra Nugent, Calli Nugent, Indiana Horvat & Marley Horvat; great-grandchildren Josiah Lloyd, Theodore Letourneau; and expected great-granddaughter.
She was predeceased by her parents James and Leta McMichael.
A Celebration of Life will be held May 14th, 2022, from 1pm to 3pm at the American Legion Post 39, 1535 Old Dixie Hwy, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Special Olympics in memory of Maryls.
