Mortimer Irving Lowenstein, age 88, died on March 27, 2018, in Vero Beach, Florida.
He was born August 9, 1929, in Newark, New Jersey.
Prior to moving to Vero Beach in 1991, he lived in Weston, CT for 30 years.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He retired from Young & Rubicam in New York City, as a Worldwide Group Director.
While in Vero Beach, he volunteered with the Indian River Shores Public Safety Department.
He attended Indiana University.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Sheila O’Meara, his devoted children, Christopher, Moira, and Joseph of Connecticut, and his favorites, grandchildren, Alexandra and Luke. Also, his brother Laurence Lowenstein and wife, Laurie, sisters-in-law Joan and Toby Lowenstein, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Daisy Lowenstein, brothers, Alan and Daniel Lowenstein, and nephew Cary Lowenstein, and Cary’s wife, Lynn.
He will be missed by many, and remembered for his colorful personality and outfits to match.

Dearest Sheila, You & Mort have enjoyed life to the fullest. We don’t think Mort ever let a good time pass him by! We’ve had good times together! The mold was thrown away when Mort was born – he was one of a kind. Our Loving Thoughts are with you, Jill & Rick
