Neal Walter Richardson Sr. died Saturday, February 3, 2018 of cardiac arrest.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Grace Warren Richardson, his parents, J. Williard Richardson and Pauline Maddocks Richardson, and his brothers James W. Richardson Jr., and Carl M. Richardson.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rita Borah Richardson, his children, Susan Richardson Komives (Ralph) and Neal W. Richardson Jr. (Gaye), his stepchildren, Renee Moon Hanna (Jeffrey), Eva Moon (Gladys), and Samuel Edward Richardson Moon (Lilly). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren along with 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was a World War II veteran having served 1943-1945 as a Photographers Mate First Class. He was an engineer with Southern Bell Telephone Company. He was active in girl scouting and an officer of the Vero Beach Power Squadron. His avocations were accomplished with enthusiasm and quality and included skeet shooting, wood working, stained glass, gem cutting, and counted cross stitch. He was an avid reader.
A memorial service will be held at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home on Friday, February 9th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.

Mrs. Richardson and Sam, I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve shared a picture here which I took of Mr. & Mrs. Richardson at their cabin Maine in the summer of 1984. That trip is still one of the highlights of my younger years. With love, Mark Shaver
