Patrick A. DuMars “Pat”, 68, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019, peacefully, in his home with his family by his side. He was a man of integrity with such fortitude, but he couldn’t win the battle with cancer.
Patrick was born July 3, 1951 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He moved to Vero Beach in 1955. He graduated from Vero Beach High School and went off to be a member of the United States Marine Corps.
Following his service, he owned and operated Pat’s Auto Parts for over 20 years. After the closing of Pat’s, he was an entrepreneur of many business ventures.
Patrick was a Master Mason Member of the Vero Beach Masonic Lodge, The Vero Beach Shrine Club (Amara Krazy Kop), a member of The Moose Lodge of Vero Beach, The American Legion, and an honorary member of the Azan Temple.
Patrick loved playing golf and watching NASCAR on the weekends; sipping on some Rocky Mountain Spring Water.
Patrick is preceded in death by his mother; Nan J. DuMars, his father; Merle DuMars and by his beloved wife; Cathi D. DuMars.
Patrick is survived by his brother; Gary DuMars, his two sons; Benjamin F. Schwey and Clayton J. Schwey and his daughter; Melissa L. Mattek, three grandchildren; Lenel A. Mattek, Bailey W. Mattek and Hannah E. Schwey.
Anyone that knew Patrick, knows that he was waiting for the day to encounter his ‘beautiful bride’ at the Pearly Gates; they are finally content, reunified and dancing together up above.
A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge of Vero Beach. “In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The VNA Hospice House.”
