Paul Calvert Fred, age 81, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Vero Beach, passed away on April 17, 2016.
Paul was born in Plant City, FL, moving to Vero Beach in the 6th grade and is where he spent the majority of his life.
A graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1953, Paul was a United States Army veteran, having served from 1954-1956 during the Korean Conflict.
He spent many years with General Finance Corp, Vero Beach and was the owner and operator of Paul Fred�s Auto Sales, Vero Beach.
Paul loved to hunt, fish, and garden, and enjoyed fishing with Vero Beach Bass Masters.
He is survived by his wife, June of Stuart; daughter, Lynn (Rex) Hailey of Vero Beach and son, John (Jennifer) Fred of Palm Bay, FL; five grandchildren, Rex Lee Hailey of Vero Beach, Ryan (Courtney) Hailey also of Vero Beach, Sydney Fred, Gracie Fred, and John Fred all of Palm Bay; great-granddaughter, Camile Hailey of Vero Beach; sister, Betty Cato of Lake Worth, FL; and two brothers, Walter Fred of Vero Beach and Michael Fred of Hudson, FL. Paul is also survived by his former wife, Alma Fred of Vero Beach.
Paul was predeceased by his dad, Virgil Fred, mom, Juanita Fred and sister, Geraldine Cato.
A Celebration of Life BBQ will be held in Paul�s honor on Saturday, May 14th, from 1 � 4 p.m., at Kiwanis – Hobart Park, Pavilion #2, 5790 77th St., Vero Beach, FL.
