Pauline Jeanne (Hubbard) Mefort, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on September 26, 2015 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL.
Born July 2, 1943 in Detroit, MI, Pauline attended Central Michigan University and studied art. She married Barton Mefort on November 27, 1963. They settled in Colorado Springs, CO, where they raised their three children, Michael, Kerry and Matthew. Pauline worked as a dispatcher for Federal Express and later as project administrator for large projects at Sabre, Inc.
She enjoyed playing various card and board games, cooking and hosting, traveling with friends or family and taking long walks with her husband and their dogs.
In their retirement she and Bart moved to Vero Beach, FL, where she was happy to live near her father, mother, brother and one of her sisters. They spent many Sunday evenings together playing Sequence and Five Crowns.
Pauline was a devoted grandmother to her four granddaughters whom she enjoyed spoiling with gifts of clothes, toys and books. She was a loving “mother” to her Welsh Corgi, Quincy, and enjoyed walks and play time with him. A gifted artist, Pauline left behind many paintings and pottery works. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Vero Beach and First Lutheran Church of Colorado Springs.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Bart; children, Michael, Kerry and Matthew (Emily); mother, Pauline Hubbard; siblings, Allan Hubbard, Judy (Frank) Theel and Arlene (Bob) Lents; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Hubbard and her father, Richard Hubbard.
Services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Vero Beach, on October 10 at 11:00 a.m. and at First Lutheran Church, Colorado Springs, on October 17 at 11:00 a.m.
