Richard T. “Richie” Weaver, 74, of Fellsmere, passed away May 25, 2014 at Sebastian River Medical Center.
He was born at St. Catherine�s Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Richard was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Brooklyn, where he was an altar boy. He had attended the Aviation High School, considered the �Technical School of New York City.�
Richard earned an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification from Indian River Community College.
He spent 20 years with the Indian River County School District working as bus garage mechanic, prior to his retirement.
Richard was a member of the Fellsmere Vol. Fire Dept., the Fellsmere Riding Club, Sebastian River Jaycees, Indian River County 4-H Swine Club and the Indian River County Recreation Tee Ball, as a Coach.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Weaver; daughter, Sara Savage; son, John Savage; daughter, Elizabeth Chandler, all of Fellsmere and his sister, Denise Boehn, of Cocoa, FL; brother, Robert Weaver of Mahopac, NY; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Shiloh Youth Ranch, Sebastian, with Brother James Hinkle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard�s name to Shiloh Youth Ranch, 10655 Roseland Rd., Sebastian, FL 32958.
