Robert E. “Bob” Catterson, 83 of Vero Beach, died October 28, 2014 at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born October 14, 1931 in Jackson Center, Pennsylvania, to Frank M. and Geraldine E. Catterson.
Bob served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged.
He moved to Vero Beach, in 1978 from Warren, Ohio, where he worked in the automobile parts industry. Upon moving to Vero Beach, Bob owned The Stadium Sandwich Shop. He was employed for many years by Scotty’s in Vero Beach, as well as Graves Brothers in Wabasso, Florida.
Bob loved his weekly volunteer jobs at Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop and at Indian River Medical Center, where he was as a transportation specialist. He was also a “50 gallon” blood donor, which he took great pride in accomplishing.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert J. Catterson (Lisa Vaughn), of Fort Pierce and Ronald E. Catterson (Donna), of Umatilla, Florida. He is survived by his grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Ericka, and Caitlyn, who were all very dear to his heart.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Jim and sister, Peggy.
The family will greet friends from 4 p.m., Saturday, November 1st, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service to follow at 5 p.m.
