Robert William Buwen, age 84, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away on April 16th, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.
Robert was retired from the U.S. Capital Police Department and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Stutguant, Germany as a Combat Engineer.
He resided in Scranton, PA; Nutley, New Jersey; Washington, D.C.; and White Township, New Jersey; before retiring to Vero Beach.
Robert was a long-standing member of Saint John of the Cross, Knights of Columbus, Italian American Club, and the American Legion of Vero Beach Chapter.
Robert is Survived by a son Michael of Hackettstown, New Jersey and son Thomas of Vero Beach, Florida; Brothers John of Manchester, New Jersey and James of Sunrise, Florida; sisters Ann Aquilone of Fishers, Indiana; Rose Cafro of Sebastian, Florida; and Cecelia Aquilone of Vero Beach, Florida; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased in death by his parents John Buwen, Mother Cecelia Clarke Buwen, and Brother Peter Buwen.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21st, 2023, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John of the Cross on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Monday, April 24th, 2023, at 9 a.m.

Bob was a great Patriot, a great American who served his country in the military and then with the Capitol Police. We shared stories of our days in D.C. (not together but on the same team). He had a great love for his faith and his country. “May God hold him in the Palm of His Hand” 10-7 –
