Roger P. Rose, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 19, 2023 after a brief illness.
Roger served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska. Upon returning home, he married Cecelia M. Heimler in 1953. They resided in Muskegon, Michigan and soon started a family. They moved to Frankfort, Michigan in 1969, until retiring to Vero Beach, Florida in 1990.
Roger continued working in the Construction business until only a year ago. An avid tinkerer – he owned not one, but about 4 of nearly every gadget ever invented. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and refurbishing golf carts. Rarely would you see him in his vehicle without his beloved dog of 15 years, Chloe a mini Pomeranian, who never left his side.
He is survived by sons Michael (Denise), Bob (Debbie), Tim, Ron (Deirdre); daughters Carol (David), Colleen (Gene); 19 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
He is preceded by his wife Cecelia, daughter Cheryl, and grandson Jeffrey.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Roger will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, Vero Beach, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial donations in memory of Roger be made to St. Helen’s Catholic Church, Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
