Ronald J. Oatmen, 74, of Jenison, MI and Vero Beach, FL, passed away Sunday, November 19, from pancreatic cancer.
Ron graduated from Kentwood High School, Class of 1968. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, traveling, camping in the U.P., fishing, and cycling with Vero Beach Cycling, Inc.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Thelma Oatmen and brother Robert Oatmen. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janis, sons Thomas (Dana), Benjamin, and Steven, granddaughter Eleanor, sister Beverly (Doug) Tramper, brother Al (Lori) Oatmen, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of a funeral, there will be a family/friend function at a later date. Please consider contributions to the Pancreatic Cancer Association, American Heart Association, Ladder Homes, PO Box 1021, Holland, MI 49442, or Bike Walk Indian River County, PO Box 1792, Vero Beach, FL, 32961. Bike Walk volunteers rehab bikes to go to needy youth and adults in Indian River County.
