Sandy S. Spellman, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2025, in Vero Beach, Florida.
She was born in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania and moved from Ambler, Pennsylvania before settling in Vero Beach, Florida.
Sandy attended Springfield High School in Montgomery County and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
Sandy worked with Kappa Publishing and took pride in being a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid cat lover. On her free time, she volunteered at the Humane Society of Vero Beach and the Germantown Academy.
Survivors include her loving husband John A. Spellman III of Vero Beach, Fl.; daughter Susan Burns of Quakertown, Pa.; son John A. Spellman IV (Lynn) of Yardley, Pa.; and grandchildren Ashley Butz, Andrew Butz, Elisabeth Burns, Quinn Burns, Meredith Burns, Pierce Burns, and Christopher Spellman.
Sandy was predeceased by her parents Robert & Martha Strickhouser and her daughter Kristen S. Butz.
No services are scheduled at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County, 6230 77th Street Vero Beach, Fl. 32967.

Dear Jack, Susie, John and Family – we are sad about the passing of Sandy . We have all known each other for over fifty years. From living in School Valley Farms to retiring to Vero Beach, Fl we have always kept in touch with one another. As you, we will miss her. Love Diane, Dick, Kelly and Stephanie. PS: Per your request we will forward a donation in Sandy’s memory to the Humane Society in Vero Beach/Indian River County.
