Sharon Bonita McGlynn of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 86.  Born on February 2, 1939, in Peoria, Illinois, she was the daughter of James “Jim” and Gladys Denton. Sharon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, known for her positive attitude, sweetness and love for her family and friends.

She graduated from Woodruff High School and soon went on to beauty school in Peoria. Sharon also had an exceptional sales career in real estate and insurance. Moving to Florida in 1985 she continued her real estate career then on to receiving her private investigators license, acting as the CFO for Bishops Services, Inc. working alongside her husband, Jack. She had the opportunity to travel to many places in the world but most importantly she started attending church regularly.

Sharon’s’ upbeat personality, beautiful smile and love for Jesus was certainly infectious and her bright light shone on everyone. Sharon shared the gospel with anyone and everyone bringing many people to Jesus.

She was active in garden club, investment club, women’s bible study groups, card clubs and had many other interests. She established lifelong friendships with the women in her bible study groups from Spanish River Church and, after moving to Vero Beach, her friends from Calvary Chapel Christian Church. She was blessed with so many fabulous friends who became like sisters to her.

Sharon will be remembered for her very generous giving, cheerfulness and her unmistakable warm heart. She loved to play games and spend time with her family, loved to listen to music and laugh out loud. She was the organizer of all the fun activities. We all counted on her to help us make time to be together and keep our connections strong.  She was always fashionable with her hair, makeup and jewelry in place.

One of a Kind. Beautiful inside and outside. A Special Gift to all of us. A True Blessing. She will be remembered for living life to the fullest and love for her family.

Sharon is survived by her children J. Greg Fletcher, Dawn Gurdian (Francisco Nonone) and Melissa (Rickey) Meier along with her many grandchildren. Also surrounded by love are special family members, Mike (Amy) Delashmit and family and Alison McGlynn.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John ” Grandpa Jack” McGlynn.

A Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 12th, 2025, at Cornerstone Christian Church, 5950 12th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32966.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Christian Church.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

We are heartbroken to hear of Sharon’s passing. She was a wonderful person loved by so many others. Her presence at our many family events added to the fun we all had, and she made us always feel we were as special to her as she was to us. Mike recognized her as his second mom, and she was certain to sign every card or end every phone conversation as Mom. She was so very special to us, and we will miss her very much. Knowing the life she led and the many she touched with her love and kindness, we are certain she holds a special place in Heaven.
