Sharon Granger Brophy, 76, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on July 3, 2019.
Sharon was born in 1943 in Freeport, Long Island. She attended NYU and lived and worked in NYC until she moved to Weston, CT in 1988. Sharon had a long working career. She was a Vice President of Johnson and Higgins in NYC. She married John T. Brophy and together they started Westport Management Services, an insurance product development company based in Westport, CT. Sharon served as Vice President until it was sold.
Sharon was a lover of all things NY, the Yankees, Giants, the Times Crossword, and The Post. She loved to plan and host parties. Her kind and generous spirit was a gift to those who knew her. She was smart, funny, personable, and a great conversationalist.
She will be greatly missed by her brother, Richard Granger, sister-in-law, Sheryl Granger, nieces, Denise Granger Kent and Laura Granger Walsh. Lastly, she will be so very missed by her four stepdaughters, Beth Brophy Kiesner, Maeve Brophy Smith, Colleen Brophy, and Maggie Eberhardt, as well as by her eight grandchildren.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband John, and her parents, John and Florence Granger.
The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m.-11:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory. A private family service will be held at noon.
