Why do we close our eyes…when we pray? when we cry? when we dream? or when we kiss? Because we know that the most beautiful things in life are not seen, but felt by the heart. Now when we think of you, Steve, we will close our eyes and feel you in our hearts. I am sending prayers for comfort to all our family and friends who will miss you deeply and close their eyes often.

There’s no word to express how much we will miss You at the office, always carrying your coffee mug and going around to verify if we need any help from you. Steve, I remember our last conversation during our last business trip, we spoke about life and our spouses and pets. He always talks about his beautiful and lovely wife, how they know each other, since childhood friends. How excited He was for his wedding and talk very well about his extended family. You may rest in peace. You always were a good and excellent peer-to-peer and good friend. I am glad for your service to our country. “Aim High … Fly-Fight-Win”. Fly higher.

Steve was such a kind hearted person, good friend, and well liked classmate. I was so happy for them both when Shawn and Steve were able to reconnect again and know true happiness together. My heart hurts for Shawn and Steve’s family. Steve is gone too soon, but I’m sure he’ll be looking over Shawn and his daughter, giving them little signs here and there that he’s close by, smiling as always.

I prayed for a miracle and now I’m praying for peace and comfort for Shawn. Steve was my son’s best friend in high school. When he was around he was always polite and respectful. Our son joined the Air Force but wasn’t able to stay in. Steve said he was going to join and hopefully help Joe get through basic training, however Joe came home before the two of them could meet up. Steve was a thoughtful, caring and supportive young friend and now I can only hope that they’ve been reunited in heaven. RIP Steve.
