Susan Tellier Perticone, a long time resident of Darien, Connecticut prior to moving to Vero Beach, Florida in 2014, passed away on March 4, 2024, surrounded by her four daughters and two sisters. Susan, affectionately known as Susie, was 60 years old.

Born on October 28th, 1963, in Bronxville, New York, Susie was the daughter of Francis Tellier and the late Janet Tellier. Throughout her life, Susie was known for her big family of all girls, her love of cooking and entertaining, and her remarkable work ethic. She attended Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York, and graduated from Boston College with a degree in Art History. After working as a municipal bond salesman at Kidder Peabody, Susie decided to prioritize her family and devote her life to her daughters.

During her time in Darien, Susie was an active community member. She served multiple years as a volunteer on the Darien Board of Education, where her contributions supported the advancement of the public school system.

After raising her family across the street from her younger sister, Sheila, she embarked on a new chapter in her life and moved to Vero Beach, where she eventually lived around the corner from her middle-sister, Nan. Susie worked for Cliff Norris Real Estate and Dale Sorenson before ultimately finding her home at Johns Island Real Estate. Susie was a member of Wee Burn Country Club and the Johns Island Club, where she formed lifelong friendships and created countless memories.

As a lover of the beach and warm sunshine, Susie found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. She deeply appreciated life’s simple pleasures and loved hosting her friends for Mah Jongg, bike riding around her neighborhood, and playing tennis or pickleball. Susie’s legacy lives on through her daughters as her influence will continue to shape their lives, inspiring them to embrace new experiences, work hard, and seek beauty in the world. In the wake of her passing, Susie’s daughters find comfort in the memories they shared and the memories they will continue to make with their large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandfather.

Susie is survived by her four daughters, Lacey, Lexie, Hollis, and Isabelle; her father, Francis Tellier; her sister, Nan Van der Velde, and her husband, Murphy, along with their children, Murphy, Jack, and Sophie. She is also survived by her sister, Sheila Nottebohm, and her husband, Johann, along with their children, Johann, Annabel, and Fritz. Susie was preceded in death by her son, Joseph James Perticone III, and her mother, Janet Tellier.

A service will be held in her honor at St. Helen Catholic Church on March 8th at noon. The family will also host a Celebration of Life at the John’s Island Club from 4:00-6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to The Learning Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that 90% of all students in Indian River can read at grade level by 3rd grade. Donations can also be made to VNA Hospice, a compassionate organization that provides care and support to those in need during their final days.
