Suzanne Jacobs passed away peacefully on November 14, 2018 at VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, surrounded by her loving family.
Suzanne was born January 22, 1935 in the City of Hollywood, California, to parents Mary Frances and Eugene Brooks.
After the death of her father, when Suzanne was ten, she moved to Fremont, Nebraska with her mother and younger sister, Mary Lou. In addition to her children, Suzanne had a love of animals-a trait she passed on to her children-and raised over ten dogs, including her beloved Cavalier King Charles, Chloe.
Following her divorce from Michael, she went to work with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith in Stamford, Connecticut, starting out as a sales assistant in 1977 and enjoying a long and successful career as a financial consultant. Suzanne retired from Merrill Lynch in 1999 as a Vice President.
After retiring to Vero Beach, Suzanne married Charlie Jacobs in 2005. Suzanne and Charlie moved to Indian River Estates in 2010, and were active members of the Vero Beach Yacht Club, the Vero Beach Power Squadron, and St. Augustine Church. Suzanne also continued her love of the theatre through her seasoned attendance at Vero Beach’s theatres, Riverside Theatre and the Vero Beach Theatre Guild. Suzanne and Charlie also continued summering in New England, primarily on Charlie’s boat and their beach cottage in Fairfield, Connecticut.
