I will miss you forever my friend. From the day we met when you held baby Kaine at the baseball field to helping Jocelyn when she got hit with the ball to talking picking up the kids at school to passing each other in the mornings. This is so not right. You should’ve here with us all. I love you forever my friend. Fly high and keep protecting us because that was you. Till we meet again my friend ️♥️

Oh, sweet Terri. Many knew you only in your uniform, and for those who met you with your caring disposition and comforting words, that alone was enough to leave a lasting impression. But those who knew you beyond the badge saw even more — a loving mother, a devoted sister, a beautiful bride, and a daughter deeply cherished.
Every part of you will be missed. The world was truly a better place with you in it. Rest well, Terri, knowing you left your mark on this world.

The day is clear with blue skies. I am thinking about how mesmerizing the beauty here is and what God affords us to take in with our finite existence. It is NOTHING compared to the perfected paradise He promises to those who trust in Him. I believe with my entire being that your last breath here was your first in Heaven with our beloved Jesus. You were a Daddy’s girl like me and it’s comforting knowing you two are back together! God isn’t allowing you to see not even one sad tear drop here on the Earth. (I love that promise)! You have been etched on every heart you have encountered.

I still can’t believe all this happened. You were always had that infectious smile…always saw you at Courthouse, our shift were never the same, but always seem to “run” into you. God has very special place for you. You will be missed, but your memory will last forever. My prayers are with you and the family. You have left a legacy and memory that nobody can erase. R.I.P. kiddo, we have your watch

Words can’t begin to express the sadness this has caused. She was always great at what she did and impacted many lives with her kindness and caring heart. Her smile was genuine. I was the 911 administrator when we hired Terri as a Public Safety Dispatcher. Her work ethic was excellent and she carried that same kind of caring when she went on the road as a Deputy Sheriff. I’m honored to have known and worked with her, her sacrifice will never be forgotten. I am sure you were welcomed into Heaven by Jesus himself, His good and faithful servant. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9. My sincere condolences to her families, loved ones and friends. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. ❤️

Terri, we never met but have seen you at booths proudly representing the sheriffs office a few times. When I saw that larger than life, unmistakable smile in the recent news, my heart sank knowing exactly what this county lost without knowing you at all. Thank you for 25+ years of your service to this community. Lifting up friends and family in prayer during this overwhelmingly difficult time. Kevin, Stacy, Maria

Terri had the brightest smile and a genuinely kind heart — the kind that made everyone feel welcome, valued, and seen. As Proverbs 31:26 reminds us, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Terri lived this truth every day, bringing warmth into every room and offering encouragement, laughter, and compassion even on the hardest days. May we honor her memory by treating one another with the same kindness and sharing the light she so freely gave. Keeping her family, friends, and colleagues in prayer.

Terri you were the best guidance and mother figure a kid could ever ask for. You gave me nothing but guidance and most importantly love. You treated me as if I was one of your own gave me nothing but great advice and cared for me like a mother would care for her own. You were the best thing Indian river county had and I’m hurt by your passing but I know God needed you more. I ask God to cover us and comfort us as we go through this tragic journey but momma T I love you and will truly miss you and may your soul ready in eternity!!!❤️

Terri… what can I say? She was a true light of joy, and her smile said it all. We shared so many memories and so many schools together, and I could always count on my girl to be there. I appreciated everything she did with SWC and every event I had—she always helped however she could.
I am still in disbelief and absolutely heartbroken, as we all are. My deepest condolences go out to her family, her LEO family, and all her friends. Until we meet again… Rest in Peace, my friend. ❤️

Terri’s warm smile and caring presence were evident from the very first moment I met her. Along with her kindness, there was a strength and protectiveness that made those around her feel safe. I feel truly blessed to have known her and deeply grateful for the guidance she gave me during the time our paths crossed.
Having her mother, Cathy, watch over my children every day as their crossing guard, caring for them far beyond her duty and becoming like another grandmother to them, makes this loss even harder to hold. Seeing her lose her daughter, someone so loved and so important to the Indian River County community, is heartbreaking.
May we honor Terri by remembering how she made us feel, the stories she left behind, and the kindness she shared so generously. My love and sympathy go out to her entire family, and especially to her daughter, Haylee. May Terri’s memory, strength, and teachings continue to guide you and give you the courage to move forward.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Terry Mashkow. It sounds like she was a wonderful person who was committed to her community. It is clear she made a significant impact on many people, including myself, daughter-Vanessa, and granddaughter-Addision.
She is up in heaven watching down on all of us. It will be the fond memories that are near and dear to our hearts. I am a grandmother to one of her daughter’s teammates and I felt like I knew as a friend when we were sitting at tournaments. She was a warm, lovable and personable person. May you rest in peace and may God bless you and your family. May God watch over you and your family during this mourning time. Sending the family great big hugs. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May Terry rest in peace.
