Teunie R. Kranenburg, age 74, of Vero Beach, passed away August 9, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Vero Beach in 1984, coming from Palos Heights and New Lenox, IL.

Teunie retired from Ranger Construction, Ft. Pierce, FL, as Construction Superintendent.

He was a member of the Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150.  Locally, he was a member of the Italian American Club of Sebastian, FL, and a former Board Member of the Vero Beach Moose Lodge 1822.

Teunie worked hard, played hard, and retired to relax, enjoying his Sunday morning golf group.

Survivors include his wife, P. Sue Kranenburg; daughters, Kimberly (Corby) Durrell and Wendy Gardiner; former son-in-law, Robert Gardiner II; three grandsons, Dalton (Natasha) Durrell, Hunter (Kaleigh Buono) Durrell, and Trey (Shelby Brown) Gardiner; four great grandchildren; and his sister, Bette Peterson.

Teunie was predeceased by his parents, Bette and Teunis Kranenburg and in-laws, Betty and Marv Bohse.

A Gathering will be held 5 – 6 p.m., with a Memorial Service beginning at 6 p.m., on Thursday, August 13th, 2020 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory.Due to COVID-19, face coverings will be required. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Moose Charities Endowment Fund, 226 43rd Ave., Vero Beach, FL  32968.

Every family function Eric & I were invited to at the Kranenburg household, Teunie treated us like we were a part of the family. We will be forever grateful for the kindness he showed us. To the Kranenburg Family- Your dad was the king of your family, And I am so sorry for your loss, But you all have some really great memories, And I know he would love you all to remember them at this time. He was one of the most open and warmest man I have ever met. I know most of you will not remember me, but I was a friend of your mom’s and dad’s Not a really close friend, but I was always welcomed and felt like I was really like a part of the family when I was there, I loved every minute of it. Even though I have moved away, I still try and stay in touch with you Mom. So please know that I really do understand your loss, and am wishing the whole family warm wishes of healing and love.

Teunie was a dear friend and Brother Moose Member who was kind to all and had an infectious sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Especially by his fellow Moose members and all golfers that played with him on Sunday mornings. My sincere condolences to Sue and the rest of his family.

Sue, Sheryl and I are so sorry for you and your families loss. We really will miss Tuenies warm smile and greetings every time we saw he and you at the Moose Lodge. Although we have only known you folks for a short time he touched both our hearts. He will be sadly missed by many I’m sure. Our prayers will continue for both of you and your family.
