Virginia C. McBride, age 96, passed away May 2, 2021 at VNA Hospice House.
She was born September 22, 1924 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to the late John and Clara (Olsen) Carothers. Virginia graduated from college with her Associates Degree and worked as a secretary in the medical field for many years.
She lived in Connecticut before moving to Florida and was a 15 year resident of Indian River Estates.
Virginia and her husband, Bob, enjoyed spending summers in Vermont with their family and friends. They were married for 72 years.
She was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church. During her time in Florida, she enjoyed playing golf and joined many golf clubs.
Survivors include her sister, Elsie Kilgore and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert T. McBride; brothers, Lowell Carothers and Carl Carothers; sisters, Doris Madison and Rachel Snyder.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 475 43rd Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32968.

Aunt Binks, even though I didn’t have the opportunity to see you as often as I should have over the years, the times we did spend together were wonderful. You are at peace now and reunited with your love Uncle Mick and the rest of your family. May your eternal life be filled with beauty and joy. Rest in peace
