Yvonne Gibson Wright passed away on June 14, 2014.
Yvonne was born August 8, 1921, in Clinton, Indiana to William and Reva (Fielden) Gibson.
She graduated from Kalamazoo College in Michigan in 1942 and married Kenneth Lynn Wright on August 14, 1943.
The Wrights moved to Vero Beach in 1953 when they purchased the Beachland Court on Beachland Blvd.
Yvonne taught English and reading at Satellite High School in Satellite Beach from 1965 to 1970 and then at Vero Beach High School from 1970 to 1984.
During that time she completed her master�s degree at Rollins College.
Yvonne was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Satellite Beach and a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Vero for many years.
She sang in the church choir and was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Orchid Isle Garden Club and the Sarah Circle at the church.
Following her retirement Yvonne worked as a volunteer at the Vero Beach Public Library.
In 2009 she and husband Ken became residents of Indian River Estates.
Yvonne is survived by her four children: Ann (Bruce) Haight, Kenneth (Ted) Wright, Jr., Thomas (Lisa) Wright and Douglas (Vickie) Wright; by her ten grandchildren: Evelyn (John) Madvig, Brian (Nicole) Haight, Justin (Amy) Wright, Andrea (Greg) Smith, Laurel (Griffin) Arendell, Maggie (Shawn) McCardle, Stephen Wright, Stuart Wright, Ashley Wright and William Wright; by nine great grandchildren: Sarah and Nathan Madvig, Naomi and Julia Haight, Veda and Jones Wright, Camryn and Allie Grace Smith and Shauna McCardle: and by her sister-in-law, Lou Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her brothers, William and Robert Gibson, and her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Wright.
A memorial service to celebrate her life is being planned for 2 p.m., August 30th at the First Presbyterian Church.
