Zachary Cole Blades, 12, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Wednesday, January 30 at Arnold Palmer Hospital, Orlando.
He was born May 26, 2000 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and had lived in Vero Beach for 9 years coming from his birthplace.
Zach was of the Catholic Faith.
Zach was a student at Vero Beach Elementary School; he was a member of the Boy Scouts Troop 558 and Pack 530 and was associated with the Indian River Soccer Association.
He is survived by his mother, Michele Blades of Vero Beach; father and step-mother, Monte and Melissa Blades of Vero Beach; maternal grandmother, Mary Tenbus of Vero Beach; Paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Peggy and John Powers of Rockford, Ill. He was pre deceased by his maternal grandfather Robert Tenbus and paternal grandfather Charles Blades.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 5th from 6-8PM at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home with a Mass of the Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 6th at St. Helen Catholic Church.
Donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, 240 22nd Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32962.
