Zelda Pearl Davis, age 93, of Vero Beach, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at VNA Hospice House.
She was born June 29, 1928, in Harper, West Virginia.
Zelda attended Beckley College, in West Virginia.
Locally, Mrs. Davis retired from the Carpenters Union Hall, working as a bookkeeper for many years and later as a seamstress with Bealls Dept. store, both of Vero Beach.
She was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church, Vero Beach, serving in the nursery for many years. Recently she attended Calvary Chapel Vero Beach.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed sewing and made numerous outfits for her family over the years. She also liked to read, listening to music, and keeping up with the events of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You could always count on her being beside the radio every Friday night, listening to the Vero Beach Fighting Indians football games.
Zelda was a loving and devoted Mother, Memaw, E-Maw, and Friend.
She is survived by her three daughters, Dee D. Soop of Ft. Pierce, FL, Teresa (Jon) Goff and Melissa (Randy) Peters both of Vero Beach; brother, W.C. McCutcheon of Dunedin, FL; daughter-in-law, Sandra J. Davis of Vero Beach; eight grandchildren, Kevin Davis, Christopher Davis, Holly Wood, Nicole Peters, Ashley Callahan, Jeremy Goff, Tyler Peters, and Taylor Peters all of Vero Beach; and eight great-grandchildren, Rhett, Brynn, Kaden, Kannon, Harmoney, Josiah, Avery, and Ellie, with baby boy, Asher, on the way.
Mrs. Davis was predeceased by her son, Rodney B. Davis, mother & father, Van & Mamie McCutcheon, and brothers, Thomas McCutcheon, Lonzo McCutcheon and Shirley McCutcheon.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Dee and family I have had the pleasure of knowing your mom for over fifty years. I loved her like a mother. I am so sorry for your loss. You all have endured a lot of loss. I sent my sincere condolences to the entire family. She was a amazing woman. Always had a kind word to say and a smile on her face. She will be missed. But we have our precious memories of her . May she rest in peace.
