Allen Craig Jones (Craig) died peacefully on November 21, 2017 after a long battle with Lewy Bodies Dementia which gradually robbed him of both is movement and cognition.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Eileen Mackenzie Cissel. In addition to his wife, Craig is survived by their daughters, Jody J. Caiola of NYC and Kristen M. Jones (Benjamin Acquario) of Surfside, FL as well as grandchildren Anabela, Andre and Avery Caiola of NYC and Jamie and Ryan Mcquagge, and Francesca Acquario of Surfside, FL. He is also survived by his sister, Marjorie Stewart of Boiling Springs, PA.

Craig was born on June 19, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Allen Harrison Jones and Virginia Wolfe Jones.

He was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD where he helped them to state titles in both baseball and basketball. He continued his athletic career playing basketball for Penn State where he received a BA ’66 and a Masters of Regional Planning in ’68.

Craig then began a career in energy conservation with the Public Health Service (National Center for Air Pollution Control) and moved on to spend most of his career with the NYS Public Service Commission.

Always an athlete, Craig began playing tennis and although he earned Eastern Tennis Association rankings in both mixed and men’s doubles, he was most proud of his success at coaching his two daughters who both became ranked players and went on to receive college tennis scholarships.

In 2005, Craig and Eileen bought a condo in Sea Oaks, a tennis community in Vero Beach, FL, where Craig enjoyed life both on and off the court.

The Jones family will welcome friends into their home on Sunday, Nov. 26 (1-4 pm) and Monday, Nov. 27 (10 am-12). There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date in Albany, NY.
