Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Anita Olsson (née Belstler), age 74, passed away on July 5, 2026, in Vero Beach, Florida with loved ones by her side.
Born on February 9, 1952, in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, Anita brought a warmth and vibrant spirit into the world that she carried with her throughout her entire life. Prior to suffering a stroke in November of 2010, she was a dedicated and familiar face to many in her community through her work at Walgreens.
Anita was a woman of profound empathy and unconditional love. While she was a devoted mom to three, she was affectionately known as “Ma” to countless others. Her door and her heart were always open to anyone in need of comfort, shelter, or a listening ear—whether they walked on two legs, four legs, or had scales. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen and valued. You could always count on Anita to sit with you, pour a fresh cup of coffee, and listen intently while you shared your heart and soul.
Family was the cornerstone of Anita’s life. She rarely missed a milestone and could always be found cheering, supporting, and celebrating the special events in the lives of those she loved.
She was reunited in peace with those who went before her: her father, Theodor Belstler; her mother, Erna Belstler (Stempfle); and her brother, Thomas Belstler.
Anita’s legacy of love, kindness, and open-door hospitality lives on through her family. She leaves behind:
Her Children: Melissa Schwanke, Laura Graves (Schwanke), and Clifford T. Schwanke.
Her Grandchildren: Scarlett Wright, Alexis Cusano, Cassidy LoPresti (Graves), Kayla Connor, Sage Graves, Miranda Graves, Jacob Gormley, Samara Schwanke, Ulara Inman, Quinn Inman and
several great-grandchildren
Her family will forever cherish the memory of her gentle strength, her boundless generosity, and the quiet comfort of a shared cup of coffee.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Stroke Association in Anita’s name.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
