Catharine Love “Cathy” Field Mason, 70, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 28, 2026, in Vero Beach. Born on January 31, 1956, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Cathy graduated from Punahou School in Honolulu in 1974 and graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in 1978. She also obtained a master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1988 and held many certificates in Education.
Cathy is survived by sons, Chad (Kylie) Mason of Tallahassee, FL and Craig Mason of Vero Beach; grandchildren, Tate and Adalee; brothers, John (Susie) Field of Honolulu, HI and Peyton (Cheryl) Field of Palmer Springs, VA; as well as many treasured nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dudley and Jacqueline Field of Honolulu, HI & Palmer Springs, VA; grandparents, Fletcher and Pela Bobbitt of South Hill, VA and Harry and Catherine Field of Honolulu, HI.
Cathy was a very kind, loving and generous person who never knew a stranger. She was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Cathy loved the outdoors and was happiest being at the beach and working with the many plants that she raised.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

RIP Mrs Cathy u was a great school teacher to me u was always very kind an took ur work very seriously may u rest in peace u was a gentle soul i just seen this post on facebook an said that was MS mason she was my school teacher in high school awww my condolences go out to her family a. Through a random encounter many years ago Cathy became a most treasured friend and companion. In sharing our love for flowers and trees, music and travel, and making new friends, she truly appreciated every day she was with us. Now with a broken heart I join her many old and new friends in wishing her the peace and eternal happiness she so richly deserves. She’s not gone, she just left the party early!
