Charles E. Sylvester, age 88, of Vero Beach passed away on August 12, 2018.
He was born in Spring Lake Heights, NJ and moved to Vero Beach in July of 2017.
Mr. Sylvester was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He retired from working with the U.S. Government in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey.
Mr. Sylvester was a member of St. Catharine’s, Spring Lake, NJ.
He volunteered at Spring Lake Fire Company #1 and could often be found on the tennis courts!
Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Jane Sylvester; daughter, Grace Samis, son, C. Frederic (Lisa) Sylvester, daughter, Lynda (Sean) Clark, and son, Francis (Nejie) Sylvester; and 3 grandchildren, Shanna Sylvester, Anne Gadson, and Isaac Samis.
He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and William Sylvester and 8 siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
