Dan: We really got Lee the day she brought you to my house for you to meet Momma, Bob and I — I’ll never forget that hug we gave each other while Lee stood there with her mouth and eyes wide open and then asked how we knew each other! We got her good that day! I told you the last time I saw you on Saturday that I loved you and I know in my heart that you knew I did and still do! I know, too, that E.B., Jordie and Momma were there with so many others to meet you as you walked hand-in-hand with Our Lord into Heaven! Peace be with you always my “brother” and one day I hope to see you meet me! Forgive my selfishness, but I miss you very much. I enjoyed our talks, being with you at all of the kids games (grandchildren, nephews, nieces) not to mention our Fighting Indian games and jokes! You are so loved! I am so glad you have no more pain and are full of joy and happiness!

Danny was a good man, who took me on with two little girls that he so happily raised as his own. And when His son Jordan was born he always said his life was complete. He gave us everything we wanted or needed and only complained a little. He will be deeply missed. We loved him more than he knew. I remind myself everyday of the words Dan said to me in his last few days of life; “don’t worry Lee, everything will be okay”. XOXO

What I wouldn’t give to sit and play a game of 3 card gut with you so I could win back my blood donor and library cards!! We have shared a lot of laughs in the last 30 years and you are already missed. You were a good man “Charlie Brown”!! Love, Peppermint Patty ❤

Just happened to check the obituaries for the various funeral homes and saw Dan’s. So very sorry for you all, as he was a fine man. I haven’t seen you all in a few years, remember how dedicated Dan was during our years as VBHS band parents. He was so personable and always reached out to others. As so many have previously said, he was taken too young, and but I am sure his impact on others will last forever.
