David C. Nolte

David Christian Nolte of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, surrounded by his loving Wife, Michele and friends.

David was born May 7, 1943 in New York City to Christian and Daisy Gugel Nolte.

David graduated from Bayside High School (NYC) and received his B.A. in Government and Business Administration from American University, Washington, D.C. David moved to Vero Beach in 1974. David faithfully served the taxpayers of Indian River County, being elected Property Appraiser in 1981. He was the first Republican Constitutional Officer elected in Indian River County.

David was a member of Christ by the Sea Methodist Church and was involved in many Civic and Professional organizations, serving on the Advisory Board of Salvation Army, Rotary Club of Vero Beach, Past Chairman and Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, Recipient of the Kiwanis George F. Hixon Award; Past President and Secretary, Kiwanis Club, Board of Directors of the Humane Society (HSVB), Annual Supporter of H.A.L.O. Rescue – No-Kill Shelter; Past Treasurer of the Republican Party of Indian River, Founder, Men’s Republican Club of Indian River, Founder, Past President and Director of Florida Association of Property Appraisers; Founder of the Florida Chapter of the International Association of Assessing Officers (FCIAAO), Treasurer of American Security Council Foundation, and member of The Hundred Club.

David is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Michele, Sons David (Amy), Christian (Kristen) and Daughter Gretchen. He is also survived by his Grandchildren Jacob, Camryn, Jack, Emerson, Kinsley and Sabrina, Katelyn (Peter) Zimmer, along with Lori and Jake Gifford and great-grandchildren, Mallory, Josh, Sophia and Xavier; his fur babies; Lady, Cooper and Penelope will forever miss their Daddy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Creech.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 at Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church, 3755 Florida A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963.
