Beloved husband and father, David Lloyd Barcus, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of February 3, 2024. David was born on April 6, 1936, in Neptune, NJ to the late Luther and Ruth (Lister) Barcus.

David was preceded by his brother, Luther Barcus (Hazel) and survived by his brother John Barcus (Cathy). David attended Manasquan High School where he met his beloved bride Alice Barcus who passed away on May 12, 2019. They were married for 65 years, and David is survived by his six children: William Barcus (Joan) Vero Beach, FL, Karen Barclay (Richard) North Wilkesboro, NC, Thomas Barcus (Annette), VT Carol Bond (James), Vero Beach, FL David Barcus, Jr. (Holly), MN and Susanne Snell (Alcindor), Vero Beach, FL. He was preceded by one grandchild and survived by 18 as well as survived by 18 great grandchildren.

David was a distinguished restaurateur who started his long career with Chef’s International in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. His career eventually brought him to Vero Beach where he resided for 45 years.

David had a passion for restoring Model T automobiles. When David was not busy restoring a Model T he was buying and selling antiques. He loved to travel and spend quality time with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sure Stay by Best Western, 9330 19th Lane, Vero Beach, FL on March 9th, between the hours of 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Donations are welcome at VNA Hospice House located at 901 37th St, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
