Elizabeth J Smith, age 69, passed away on October 17, 2015, at her home.
She was born in Chicago, IL and lived in Vero Beach Florida. She had a special love for Florida and lived there for most all of her life.
She retired from Cosmetology and Housekeeping.
She was an avid animal lover, taking in, rescuing and caring for many pets throughout her lifetime. Caring for animals was a way of life for her.
She attended Indian River College of Nursing.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Phil.
Survivors include her son, John Wayne; and grandson, Griffen; her sister, June Irene White; brother, Robert Shwetz; and nieces, Lisa Ruiz, Laura Brick and Jennifer Pack.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Humane Society of Indian River County, in her honor.
