Warm like the sun, gentle like a breeze, strong like a mighty oak…loving beyond compare.

On February 18, 2017 we unexpectedly lost our most treasured husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Henry Arthur Moran, Jr. – known as Hank – died suddenly of cardiac arrest in his home in Vero Beach, Florida at just 72 years old. His passing leaves so many broken-hearted. Our loss is immeasurable…but so is Heaven’s gain…for welcomed into God’s arms is a soul that leaves a beautiful impression on every heart he encounters.

Hank was born on February 11, 1945 in New Jersey to parents Henry and Vera Moran. He, along with his younger sister Nancy, grew up in the Livingston, New Jersey area. After attending Livingston High School where he was Captain of the Varsity Track Team, he graduated from
St. Francis University in Pennsylvania. Hank then joined the U.S. Army where he was accepted into Officer Candidate School. He served as an Officer with the Army’s Military Police for three years. Upon leaving the Army, Hank began what would prove to be a long and successful career with Allstate Insurance Company. After 26 years, he retired from Allstate as an Assistant Vice President. Not quite ready for full retirement, Hank joined Accenture and served as a Consultant there for five years. In his retirement years, Hank volunteered his time, love and spirit with the Boys & Girls Club of Indian River County, as well as the Indian River Academy. We’re not sure who enjoyed the experience more…Hank or the kids he so lovingly served!

Forever an athlete, Hank was an avid golfer – truly loved the game, as well as his golfing buddies. He was also deeply inspired by and had a real love of nature. However, for as much as he enjoyed golf and nature, nothing could compare to the love he had for his family.

Hank is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Regina and his two loving daughters, Jen and Erin. He is also survived by his sons-in-law, Scott and John, whom he adored as if they were his own sons. Hank’s pride and joy were his four beautiful grandchildren: Elle (12), John (12), Janie (9) and Mac (9). In addition to so many others who loved him, Hank is also survived by his sisters-in-law, his nephew Rob and Jen and Erin’s mom, Midge.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help support Hank’s lifelong passion to find a cure for cancer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at The Indian River County Intergenerational Center, 1590 9th St. S.W. Vero Beach, FL 32962.
