Herman F. Browning, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving daughters, Mary and Christiné and son-in-law, Brian.

Born in 1939 in LaBelle, Florida, to the late Paul Browning and Lillie (Brewer) Browning, he was one of thirteen incredible children.

His siblings, Betty and Oliver Murray, Paul “Buddy” and Yvonne “Joley” Browning, Amos and Lucille Browning, James “Peewee” Browning, Arthur and Susan Browning, Dorothy and Buddy Brookins, Vickie and Julian Howard, Sheila and Gene Tanner, Sherry and Wayne Greer, Linda and Jerry Harper, Robert and Karen Browning, and Lonny Browning and brother-in-law, Neil P. Stickler.

On July 14, 1962, in Waycross, Georgia, he married Mary Elizabeth “Mary Beth” Stickler. They were married for over 60 years, until her passing in 2024. Together they attended Baptist Bible College, served as missionaries in London, England, and remained faithful servants of the Lord for the rest of their lives. Herman and Mary Beth’s greatest desire was to lead people to Jesus Christ and see souls saved. God, Family, Country, and service to the Lord guided everything they did.

Herman served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the 5th Missile Battalion, 73rd Artillery at Ferris Barracks in Erlangen, Germany, where he worked with the Sergeant Missile System. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal. In June 1968, he declined a promotion to Sergeant First Class, choosing to remain with the men and the mission he knew.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Beth; his parents, Paul and Lillie Browning; several brothers, sisters, and others.

He is survived by his children, Christiné N. Garcia, Mary E. (Brian) Weaver, and Steven Paul Browning; grandchildren, Jeffery P. Gravely (Christiné), Kaitlyn Skye and Amanda Jane (Mary & Brian); several sisters, a brother, hundreds of nieces and nephews-over several generations and growing by the day.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverview Baptist Church, 4601 Old Dixie Highway, Fort Pierce, FL 34946 on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in Herman’s name to Riverview Baptist Church and/or to our charity, Work Play Love (orphanage in Guatemala) at www.workplaylove.org
