On Monday, February 22, 2021, Howard Roy Beem Jr. passed away at the age of 56 in Vero Beach, Florida following a brief but courageous battle resulting from complications of the COVID-19 Virus.

He was born on September 19, 1964 in Illinois and raised in Union, New Jersey. Following his proud service in the United States Marine Corps, he relocated to Palm Beach County. Shortly after arriving, he met and married Laura (Wilhelm) Beem and settled down in Boynton Beach where they welcomed two amazing children, Corinn Nicole and Anthony James.

His career in new home construction provided an opportunity to relocate to Vero Beach in 2004 where he laid deep roots within his community. He quickly advanced in his career and held various roles with the companies he served and represented.  His long career ended as Project Manager with Ryan Homes where he was well-respected for his leadership skills.  Roy possessed a sense of humor and a welcoming demeanor. He lived large and was considered a strong figurehead among his family, friends, and co-workers.  He had a passion for living and enjoyed motorcycles, baseball, guns, creating art and cooking for family and friends. Some of his happiest moments were spent preparing fabulous meals and spending time with those he dearly loved.

He is survived by his children, Corinn Beem and Anthony Beem; his parents Anthony and Dolores Elvas; and siblings, Russell Beem (Audrey); Rebecca Giordano (Elio); and Rochelle Beem, as well as many much loved nieces and nephews; and significant other, Laura Herman of Vero Beach.

Roy will be honored in a beachside Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Jaycee Park, 4200 Ocean Drive, Vero Beach, FL.

Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Crestlawn Cemetery, 1216 14 Street, Vero Beach, FL.

Even though both events are outdoors, masks are strongly encouraged. If you are sick or have had a recent positive Covid-19 test, please refrain from attending. Thank You!

I was lucky enough to live next door to Roy and Laura for many years In Boynton Beach. I got to know all the family members too. I have cherished memories as I look back on raising our children on Pebble Brook. Roy had a wonderful relationship with my oldest son, Scott. He would always have Scott try the latest bread he had made or meat he had smoked. They always fed him very well. Whether we were celebrating a Holiday with the Beem family or just talking on the front porch, we always shared a laugh. We lost a special Son, Father, Brother, Marine and Friend when the Lord decided to bring Roy to Heaven. I will miss him and am so grateful for the memories. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.
